While some buyers are looking for the most exclusive hyper cars, others opt to pay top dollar to get customized models all in a bid to look unique and different from the crowd. Well, you will be surprised to learn that the huge urge for customization is also creeping to the truck segment and it is not about getting different cabin sizes or cargo beds as you might think;  but rather it is all about getting  exclusive packages, “Black themed Packages” to be specific.

Not to be left out, Ram has also joined the bandwagon and has released a Night Package for its Ram 1500 truck available on the Sport trim only. As the name suggests, the 2017 Ram 1500 Night Package features a range of dark trim pieces and accenting which make the model look as if it has gone through an aftermarket design house.

2017 Ram 1500 Price

Pricing for the new 2017 Ram 1500 has been set at $26,295–$53,095 based on current exchange rates. If there are changes on the 2017 Ram 1500 we will notify you as soon as possible, so keep follow our blog.

2017 Ram 1500 Specs

The black theme begins at the front where the grille and its halo surround feature a flat black color. The grille inserts dubbed “Hex Perf” by the automaker also feature a black color. The flat black theme continues on the gigantic RAM logo on the model’s tailgate at the rear.

The 2017 Ram 1500 is proof of that. As the oldest among its competitors, the full-size Ram is no dog. It offers a full complement of solid engines each its own tool for a specific job, handsome interiors, intuitive features, and increased comfort.

No compelling reason, since the 2016 Ram received some worthy enhancements (more on those below). For 2017, the carryover model lineup should begin with the Tradesman trim and ascend through Express, HFE, SLT, Big Horn (called Lone Star in Texas), Outdoorsman, Sport, Rebel, Laramie, Laramie Longhorn, and Laramie Limited. Whew. Body configurations again will include the 2-door regular cab, the extended-cab 4-door Quad Cab, and the full-length 4-door Crew Cab. All 4-door versions have forward-hinged doors that open independently of the fronts. Bed lengths of 5-feet 7-inch, 6-feet 4 inch, and 8-feet would be available. Rebel and Laramie Longhorn and Limited will return in Crew Cab form only, with the other Rams offering most or all cab-bed configurations, depending on model.

Much about the exterior, on the inside the Package offers high-back bucket front seats. There is also a full center console. The front seats and the steering wheel are heated. Other features and options of the Ram 1500 remain. In addition, if you want to further set you Ram 1500 apart, you can opt for dealer-supplied add-ons such as a sport performance hood, a dual-purpose bed divider and extender as well as black running boards. Further, you can get a cold-air intake and cat-black exhaust system from Mopar.

On the sides, the badges on the doors continue the black theme while the package brings on board 20-inch aluminum wheels which feature a glossy black color. The wheels are wrapped in 5-spoke 275/60R-series all-season tires. If a buyer opts for the Hemi engine and 4WD, the badges are also colored in black. The models with the Package are offered in five color choices, they are Bright White, Bright Silver Metallic, Flame Red, Brilliant Black and Granite Crystal Metallic.

2017 Ram 1500 Engine

The package is based on the Sport trim which is powered by a 3.6 L, Pentastar V-6 mill or the 5.7 L, Hemi V-8 which are offered in either 2WD or 4WD. The truck is also offered in all cab and bed options. In addition, the trim features a monochromatic paint theme which augurs well with the black features and accenting of the package.

The 5.7-liter Hemi V-8 is optional on most models except Sport, Limited, Laramie, and Laramie Longhorn versions, where its standard. Its uprated 395 hp and 410 lb-ft is good for up to 10,500 pounds of towing, dragging any more requires an HD model.

A 3.0-liter turbodiesel V-6 is the efficiency champ and our favorite. It’s the only full-size, light-duty oil burner around and its strong 420 lb-ft of pull is enough to forget that it’s only rated for 240 horsepower. It’s rated to tow more than 9,000 pounds, and can get up to 30 mpg on the highway.
