The inner side of Nissan X-Trail 2016 will have more space, panoramic view of glass roof, rear-view camera, power front-seats, dual-zone automatic climate control, navigation system, leather seats and better entertainment system. This model will be released with different names in different countries with in terms of design layout, but a facelift will be there for sure. According to rumors, the both S, and SV models may be offered with optional third seats row whereas the SL trim model will come with standard two rows seats. Also, there is a possibility of this vehicle to avail 17 or 19 inches wheels to either of the versions.

The new model is set to offer both two-row and three-row seating options. Specifically, the S and SV trims will offer a third row as an option. However, the SL trim will only offer two row seats as standard. The S and SV trims with three seating rows can comfortably seat 7 adult passengers comfortably.

The new model X-Trail may come with similar engine under its hood like seen in its previous version. The base model of Nissan X-Trail 2016 will be powered by supercharger 4-cylinder 2.5L engine that develops 170bhp and 175lb/ft of torque output. This engine is combined with Xtronic CVT and will not be offered with manual transmission.

The vehicle will be offered with a front wheel drive mode as standard. All wheel drive mode will be offered as an option though. When it comes to fuel efficiency, the new figures will be pretty impressive which can be attributed to the manufacture’s use of lightweight materials on its body. It will have 26 mpg for city, 33 mpg for highway and 28 mpg combined. The 2016 model will also feature a new hybrid engine.  This engine will be a combination of an electric motor with a 2.0L Inline-4- gasoline engine.

For the European market, Nissan will equip the new X-Trail with 1.6 dCI diesel engine with 130 hp originating in Reno, this engine in city driving consumes 6.2 liters of fuel per 100 km (38 mpg), on the open road 4.8 liters (48 mpg), while combined consumes around 5.3 liters per 100 km (44,3 mpg) . Acceleration from 0-100 km/h (0-60 mph) reached in about 11 seconds, and the maximum vehicle speed is 186 km/h (115 mph). The vehicle meets the stringent Euro 6 standards and emits 143 grams of CO2 per kilometer.

The CVT will send power to the front-wheel drive and four-wheel drive as an optional package. Also, it will have nice fuel economy such as 26 mpg in city and 33 mpg in highways. Combined at both places will target 28 mpg. Perhaps this model may come with electric-hybrid power-train that will also have lower fuel economy.
